Detailed tinerary of the tour
We have two departure times (you can choose the time that best suits your travel itinerary):
- Morning from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm
- Afternoon from 1:30 pm to 5:30 pm
The tour begins with pickup from your hotel and transfer to the ranch in our private transportation, in the upper part of Saqsayhuaman, where the horses are located and where we can begin this beautiful half-day horseback riding tour in Cusco.
Once the tour has begun and we’re mounted on the horses, we head to the Temple of the Moon, our first stop. We’ll take a walking tour to explore the inside and outside. Our guide will explain all about this beautiful temple. It is also known as the Temple of Fertility in Inca and pre-Inca culture.
After a pleasant tour of the Temple of the Moon, we will head towards the eucalyptus forest and then to the Sacsayhuamán viewpoint, where we will have a great view of the city of Cusco.
On the last part of our tour, we will take the trail to the Devil’s Balcony or Chacan. Along the way, we will pass by some farms, herds of local animals, and enjoy a beautiful view of the city and its surroundings. There are some flat areas where we can test our horse riding skills. Once we reach the Devil’s Balcony, we will leave our horses and explore the area. It is an incredible natural site where the Incas decided to build a temple dedicated to the rainbow.
On the way back, we will stop at an ancient Inca quarry to explore some caves and a small ancient Inca temple. Finally, after some adventure, we will arrive at the Ranch and leave our horses to take our transportation back to the hotel.
