The team at Machu Picchu Viajes Peru endeavour to fulfil the dreams of 28 Mahuaypampa children in the Andean mountains in western Cusco every year. We do this by gifting the children a much needed cup of hot chocolate, a christmas Panettone cake and an offering of some festive gifts.
These Mahuaypampa children of the mountains do not have the resources or the capacity to enjoy Christmas like the rest of us, so it is for these reason that we continue to carry out this Project every year. Not least because of the joy they bring us with every smile and expression of gratitude. Machu Picchu Viajes Peru would like to reach more populated centers with our Christmas Project, however the lack of recourse means that we instead change the location of our project every year.

Christmas 2018 with Machu Picchu Viajes Peru
In 2018, “Machu Picchu Viajes Peru,” as it does every year, made the dreams of 28 children from Mahuaypampa in the Andean mountains west of Cusco come true. They enjoyed hot chocolate with panettone and received gifts. These are children who, for many reasons, lack the resources or means to enjoy Christmas. That is why we carry out this project, which fills us with joy for every smile they give us. Machu Picchu Viajes Peru would like to reach every community with this Christmas project, but a lack of resources forces us to support different places little by little.
Christmas 2017 with Machu Picchu Viajes Peru
In 2017 Machu Picchu Viajes Peru successfully fulfilled the Christmas wishes of 50 children from the Andean mountains of Tincoc – Paruro Cusco. Although they do not often experience visitors and our team were all but strangers to the native people, the children and their families greeted us with smiles upon our arrival. So we took little time to create conversation with them to build their trust and begin gifting the gathering crowd with the hot chocolate and christmas cake.
After the warming their bellies and sending as many children as we could away with a toy and a smile, our team was just as happy as they were to have brought some christmas cheer to the community. And we are already looking forward to sharing the festive spirit with another rural mountain community again through our Christmas project next year.
