DAY 01.- CUSCO – CITY TOUR 1/2 DAY.
Arriving to Cusco to the airport we wait and transfer you to your hotel in Cusco, once at the hotel you will have chance to try an aromatic coca-leaf tea for the height of the city, and then you can relax and have lunch before the tour of the city.
1:30 PM City Tour: we will meet you at your hotel lobby to begin our tour, we will visit the Temple of the Sun or Koricancha, the Plaza de Armas, the main streets, the San Pedro Market, we will also see the 02 ruins near the city, the Fortress of Sacsayhuaman and finally “Kenko”, at 6:00 pm transfer to the hotel.

DAY 02.- CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS
The tour starts in Cusco at 7:30 AM, your guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby in Cusco, then we will travel by our private car to the sacred valley of the inkas for around 45 minutes, on the way we will stop in strategical viewpoints we will be able to see the Sacred Valley and get into the Inca history, once we arrive to Pisaq we will visit the famous typical craft market then, we will drive towards the ruins of Pisac, where we will see impressive agriculture terraces on the mountain and beautiful Inka temples, after exploring we head to the town of Urubamba (one hour drive) we will meet for lunch at a local Andean restaurant. This meal is not included in the tour, they usually offer a buffet lunch (it cost $ 20 USD per person).
After lunch will drive next to the Urubamba River towards the town of Ollantaytambo. Once we reach Ollantaytambo we will visit the Inka City, and the important area of Incan construction, built during the Inca’s heydays, where descendants of the Incas are still living in the inkas houses.
On the way back to Cusco, we’ll visit the picturesque village of Chinchero where there are the remains of the “Royal Hacienda of Tupac Inca Yupanqui”. You will admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the Main Square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes on the portico, this temple was built on the foundations of an Inca building. Here we can also visit its artisan market and enjoy the demonstration of the natural dyeing of wool and tissues.
Once the visit is completed, we’ll return to Cusco, we’ll arrive to the city at approximately 06:30 p.m.

DAY 03.- CUSCO – SORAYPAMPA – HUMANTAY LAKE – SALKANTAYPAMPA (SALKANTAY TREK)
On this third day, our adventure to Machu Picchu begins along the Salkantay Trek. We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco around 5:00 a.m. in our private transportation. We begin our adventure heading to Mollepata, where you can have breakfast, and then take a 3-hour van ride to the Soraypampa trailhead, 3,800 km away. Before the start of the trek, our riders will hand over your travel bag, and you will be ready to begin your Salkantay Trail trekking adventure to the Humantay Lagoon. This trek lasts approximately 1.5 hours and will take you to the base of Humantay Mountain, where you can enjoy the beautiful crystal-clear blue waters of the Humantay Lagoon. After some time to be mesmerized by the beauty of such an incredible creation of nature, you will begin the trek back to the starting point to enjoy a hot lunch.
After lunch, we’ll hike for approximately two hours to our Salkantaypampa campsite, located very close to the Salkantay peak, where we can enjoy beautiful views of the glaciers. We’ll spend the night in Salkantaypampa.

DAY 04.- SALKANTAYPAMPA – SALKANTAY PASS – CANAL INKA (SALKANTAY TREK)
After waking up early in the morning, you’ll enjoy breakfast and prepare for the day’s hike. You won’t be able to help but stop to enjoy the spectacular views of the surrounding glacial peaks and mountains. From Salkantay Pampa, you’ll ascend slowly for the next 3 hours until you reach the Inca Chiriaska pass, located 5,100 km (3,100 mi) above sea level. Chiriaska, Quechua for “to cool down,” is truly cold most of the year, but it offers some of the best views of Salkantay’s glacial peaks. After taking some time to admire the stunning scenery, you’ll enjoy a hot drink before continuing your hike. The hike from the pass to Sisaypata to our lunch spot will take about 3.5 hours, but it’s all downhill. In Sisaypata, you’ll have the opportunity to admire the beauty of the Paltayoc peaks.
After lunch, we continue hiking for another 2 hours downhill to the “Canal Inka” campsite.

DAY 05.- CANAL INKA – LLACTAPATA – KM 82 – OLLANTAYTAMBO – AGUAS CALINETES (SALKANTAY TREK)
After breakfast, you will visit the Inca archaeological site of Paucarcancha before continuing your hike. This day, you will reach an original section of the Classic Inca Trail. As you trek, you will be captivated by the breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. You will also experience a glimpse of the famous Inca Trail by visiting the famous Inca archaeological site of Llactapata. This site is known for having been an Inca village characterized by its houses, water channels, and numerous agricultural terraces that gently line the mountainside. From Llactapata, we will hike for approximately 1 hour and then stop for lunch.
After lunch, you will hike for approximately 2 more hours until you reach Km. 82, where you will meet our private van and be transferred to the town of Ollantaytambo. From this place we will take the train at 4:36 PM, the trip is approximately 2 hours to the town of Aguas Calientes (2,000 m / 7,000 ft), Upon arrival at the town our guide will take you to your hotel where you will be informed about some activities that you can do at night, such as visiting the hot springs or visiting the artisan market of this town. At night we will have the last dinner and we will be able to coordinate and have some recommendations about our visit to Machu Picchu for the next day.

DAY 06.- MACHU PICCHU TOUR – CUSCO.
This day will be wonderful because we will start our tour to Machu Picchu very early, after breakfast we will head to the station to board the bus, we will make a 30-minute trip to the Citadel of Machu Picchu, we will have a tour of Machu Picchu through the most important Inca temples and palaces within the citadel of Machu Picchu, with your guide for approximately 03 hours, then you can explore the mysterious Inca city on your own. (Optional climb the Huayna Picchu mountain extra cost $ 70 USD per person). At the appropriate time we will descend from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes to board our return train to Ollantaytambo and from there by car to Cusco, our average arrival time in Cusco will be 7:00 PM, to then we will transfer you to your respective hotels.

DAY 07.- CUSCO – LIMA
AM breakfast at the hotel.
At the appropriate time, pick up from the hotel and transfer to the airport to take your flight back to Lima.

How to prevent altitude sickness?
- The altitude sickness or soroche can cause you some discomfort during your visit such as dizziness, fatigue or nausea. Try to avoid alcoholic beverages and fatty foods before the visit.
- To reduce symptoms, try to acclimatize yourself one day before to the altitude of the city of Cusco. We recommend to drink infusions of coca leaf (natural plant used by the Incas) is an excellent option to avoid the actitude sickness.

Which season is the best time to visit Cusco and Machu Picchu?
- The dry season months between April to December are the best time to come and visit Cusco. During those days the possibility of rain is very little, so the roads are not swampy and the landscapes can be better to enjoy and takes the best pictures. On the other hand, the months with the most rain are January, February and March.
What are the coldest months in Cusco Peru?
- The coldest season in Cusco are in the months from May to July. During this time the sun is strong in the day, but once it goes down or you spend much time in the shade, it can get very cold. It can go below zero at night, so warm clothes and Jackets are necessary to bring during these months.
How long in advance can I request the tour?
- We recommend to purchase the tours weeks or months in advance, this because the train and Machu Picchu tickets has a limit of spaces, dont wait until the lust minute to book your tour, other ways you will not be able to find spaces.
During the trip to Machu Picchu, where the big luggages will stay?
The train company that operates to Machu Picchu does not allow the traveler to carry a suitcase that weighs more than 7 kilograms. To go up and visit the city of Machu Picchu, it is recommended to carry a light and small backpack for your convenience; the rest of the luggages you can leave them without any problem at the storage of your hotel in Cusco, or you can also leave at our office in Cusco city, we have an storage too.
Very Important in case you want to book the Inca trail to Machu Picchu:
- CLASSIC INCA TRAIL 4 DAYS: If you want to book the Classic Inca Trail 4 days, you must to book early to get your desired date. Depending on the month you prefer to do the hike, you may need to book 6 months or more in advance, the limit of spaces for the inca trail 4 days is 400 people per each day.
- SHORT INCA TRAIL: If you are booking the 1 or 2 day Inca Trail, it is preferred that you also book in advance, however 2 to 4 month in advance would be good, the limit of spaces for the short inca trail is 200 people per each day.
When is the best season to hike the Inca Trail?
- The best time of year to do the inca trail is between May to October, with August and September being the best months of all. The trail is dry and the weather is lovely. During the rainy season between November to April the trail will be wet and can make it more difficult.
