If you have ever wondered how much it costs to travel to Machu Picchu, then the answer is serious, it depends largely on your travel style since for most travelers this trip to the Inca citadel is difficult to do. Train Travel Cost
When you arrive in Cusco you will still have to take the train service from Cusco to the town of Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu Pueblo) and for this service you will have to take one of the two companies (Peru Rail or Inca Rail). Alternate Route to Machu Picchu
As we have seen, traveling by train to Machu Picchu is very expensive since those that operate this service are concessionary companies. For this inconvenience, there is an alternate route to Machu Picchu that consists of taking a bus from Cusco to the Hydroelectric station. The trip lasts approximately 8 hours. Upon reaching the hydroelectric plant, it will continue with a walk of approximately 2 hours until reaching the town of Aguas Calientes. In this place you will spend the night so that the next day you can visit Machu Picchu.
Cost of Income to Machu Picchu
The purchase of entrance tickets to Machu Picchu is another cost to take into account since the costs depend on the circuit you want to do. To visit the Inca citadel there are 4 circuits from which you will have to choose the one that suits you best. Also remember that these tickets have to be reserved 2 to 3 months in advance, especially when it is high season. The cost of entrance tickets for foreigners are as follows.
